The Wildcats chalked up another "W" for the Win column Saturday night with a 10-0 victory over the Blizzard.  The Wildcats plowed through the Blizzard starting from the first puck-drop to the final buzzer without letting up.  It had been a month since their last game, so when the Cats hit the ice Saturday night, they were hungry to avenge the loss to the Firestorm.

Michele Forte kicked-off the scoring in the first period after winning a face-off in the offensive zone. When the puck dropped, Michele shot it to left-winger Krista Ehlert.  Ehlert found herself entangled with a Blizzard player, but managed to get the puck to Forte, who was already positioned in the slot and ready for a nice shot into the net.  The second goal of the night came after the ensuing face-off.  The puck went into the corner in the offensive zone and Ehlert was able to reach it first, and pass it to Forte, who fired it passed the goaltender.  Forte assisted with goal #3 when she got the puck to defenseman Cambria Ungaro, who walked in and scored on a beautiful break-away.

Michele Forte continued to factor heavily in the offensive assault during the Wildcats' first penalty kill of the game.  While Krista Ehlert was cooling her jets in the penalty box after an interference call, Forte went on to score her 3rd goal of the game and her first hat trick of the season.  Way to go, Michele!  Defenseman Casey Arnett got the assist, and the score was 4-0 early in the 2nd period.

Second period action included a goal for center Diane Sanders, who was assisted by left-winger Pat Lyons and defenseman Jenny Spencer.  Sanders was also called for tripping, and the Cats' PK unit once again easily killed off the penalty.  Forward Linda Sinrod got her first goal of the season, and was assisted by forwards Michele Forte and Heather Meyer.  What a way to end the period, ladies!

The offensive campaign continued in the third period.  The Forte-Meyer-Sinrod line scored again; this time Meyer got the goal with assists going to Sinrod and Forte.  Margaret Bartha scored goal #8 after she skated through several defenders on a clean break-away.  She was assisted by forward Laura Zdenahlik.  Casey Arnett got her 2nd point of the night when she seized an opportunity from the breakdown of the Blizzard defensive strategy, and went end-to-end along the right boards and fired a shot from the top of the face-off circle that eluded the goaltender.  In the game close-out, Bartha scored the final goal of the game with the assist going once again to Zdenahlik.  Way to go, ladies!

Goalie Katie Pepelko stood tall between the pipes and earned her first shut-out of the season. Congratulations Katie! The game was a total team effort for the Wildcats, and every player worked hard to ensure team dominance on the ice. Great job, Cats!
