The Wildcats traveled Saturday to Patterson Park in Baltimore to meet for the final time this season with the Blizzard.  High winds and brush fires reaped havoc on the area, snarling traffic and causing multiple road closures from Northern Virginia to Maryland for most of the day.  The Wildcats slowly and steadily made their way north from Virginia, and trickled in to the rink one by one, relieved to be off the road and eager to play some hockey.  The bench was short when the puck dropped at 5:15, but reinforcements arrived by the end of the 1st period.

The Wildcats' newest member gave the team their only goal of the game late in the 1st period.  After several exhilarating minutes of cycling the puck and multiple opportunities in the offensive zone, Meghan Benson perservered and put the biscuit in the basket finally off a pass from Laura Zdenahlik.  The team continued to roll out the offensive power, and maintained their lead until midway through the 3rd period when the Blizzard gained the Wildcats' zone and answered with a shot from the left face-off circle.  The Wildcats kept up their attack until the final buzzer, ending the game with a 1-1 tie, and thus ending the series with a record of 1-0-2.  It was a great game and a great series, and the Cats look forward to meeting up with this team again.

Next up: The Cats have a bye week, but will return eagerly to take on Frederick, March 6!
