Rush
The Wildcats hosted the Washington Wolves Saturday night at Cabin John.  The Wildcats went into the game 0-0-1, and were hungry for their first win.

The Wildcats struck early in the first period, eager to get on the board first.  They poured on the offense and in the first few minutes of the game scored after defenseman Lori Krist fired a blistering shot from the blue line, sending the puck bouncing through traffic and into the back of the net.  Forward Michele Forte received the assist.  This was the spark the Wildcats needed but couldn't maintain the intensity and the Wolves were able to answer back later ending the period 1-1.

In the second period, the Wildcats jumped out ahead after applying plenty of pressure in the offensive zone.  Halfway through the period, Michele Forte shot the puck to the front of the net where Krista Ehlert, after tying up a Wolves defenseman, passed the puck to forward Laura Zdenahlik who backhanded it neatly past the goaltender.  The Cats were ahead again!

The third period gave the Wildcats' penalty kill unit their first test when Casey Arnett was sent to the sin bin for a minor penalty.  The Cats' PK unit was successful in holding the Wolves at bay.  The team fought to keep the lead but the Wolves tied up the game with a few minutes remaining, and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

Next week, the Wildcats take on the Chesapeake Bay Lightning!
