The Wildcats came away Sunday night with their second win against the Washington Wolves, winning the series with a record of 2-0-1.  The win marked the second in the Cats' last two games.

The Wildcats came out in the 1st period with a fierce determination to win.  Midway through the period, Wildcats' center Michele Forte opened the scoring as a result of a scrum in front of the net. The play began when the Wolves' goalie blocked a shot by forward Laura Zdenahlik.  Krista Ehlert took the rebound shot that went under the goalie.  With the goalie down and the puck still loose, Forte finally tipped the puck into the net.

The only goal scored in the 2nd period came once again, by Michele Forte.  With the Wildcats on the attack, Laura Zdenahlik carried the puck along the boards and passed it to Forte as she came up the middle of the ice.  Unaccosted, Forte came in with a clean, hard shot for her second goal of the night.  The game ended with the final tally 2-0, registering goalie Margaret Bartha her second shut-out of the season.

In recent weeks, the Wildcats made a late season acquisition in the midst of their growing injured reserve list.  Making her debut as a Wildcat Sunday night, Meghan Benson centered the 2nd line and generated a lot of offense and scoring opportunities.  The Wildcats welcomed their new teammate loudly from the bench every time Meghan tore up the ice with the puck.

Next up: The Wildcats travel to Baltimore to take on the Blizzard Saturday night.  LET'S GO WILDCATS!!!
