Wildcats Finish Weekend 5-0

Another win on Saturday night for the Wildcats against the Frederick Firestorm. The Cats came off their two week Thanksgiving break a little flat and found themselves down 2-0 with about 10 minutes left to go in the second period. Coach Jason Ehlert called a time-out and asked the team to skate like they wanted to win. Wildcats Blank Mayhem

The Wildcats earned their second win on the road Sunday, advancing their record to 3-0.  The Wildcats and the Mayhem met for the first time this season in Hagerstown, MD. Steph Condron opened the scoring at 4:15 in the first period.  She was assisted by winger Kim Griggs. Michele Forte followed later with her first goal of the season and was assisted by Steph Condron and defenseman Eve Borner. The period ended with the Wildcats leading, 2-0.

Wildcats Wallop Firestorm

The Wildcats traveled to Frederick on November 3 for their first match with the Firestorm this season. The Cats were ready for their first road game and looking for a "W" in the Win column.

Once they took the ice, the Wildcats didn't waste any time. Laura Zdenahlik opened the scoring 1:55 into the game when she one-timed the puck into the open side of the net from a pass from Casey Arnett. Series Ends with Wildcats Win

After a long hiatus, the Wildcats took the ice again for a match up against the Washington Wolves last Saturday night. It was an excellent game.  For 45 minutes, the two teams slugged it out and battled hard for the "W."

Wildcats Shutout Firestorm

The Wildcats traveled to Frederick, MD for a Sunday match-up against the Firestorm. The game quickly turned into a barn-burner as each team turned up the heat in determination to take all; however, it was the Wildcats who were victorious in the end.

Wildcats Dominate Reign

Last Saturday night was a great night for hockey, as the Wildcats played host to the Reading Reign. From the first puck drop, the Wildcats attacked and dominated the Reign until the final buzzer. The Wildcats were clicking on all cylinders as they provided strong offensive pressure, solid defense and several newsreel-worthy saves from their goalie.

With the off-season hiatus officially over, the Wildcats took the ice again as a team against the Washington Wolves Sunday night. The Wildcats traveled to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex for the season opener, excited to play, eager to win and with some new additions to roster. Last Sunday, the Wildcats traveled to Skate Frederick in Maryland for their match against the Frederick Firestorm.  The Wildcats knew they would have to come out strong and take control of the game at the first face-off if they were to have a chance against the always formidable Firestorm. The Wildcats came away Sunday night with their second win against the Washington Wolves, winning the series with a record of 2-0-1.  The win marked the second in the Cats' last two games.

Historic Win for Wildcats

The Wildcats traveled to Frederick for a rematch that ended in a historic win for the team.  Sunday's 1-0 win marked the first time in over 5 years the Wildcats have been able to win a game against the Frederick Firestorm.  The Cats came close last season with a tied game, but finally cleared the hurdle Sunday, earning a solid "W" in the win column.
