Series Ends with Wildcats Win

After a long hiatus, the Wildcats took the ice again for a match up against the Washington Wolves last Saturday night. It was an excellent game.  For 45 minutes, the two teams slugged it out and battled hard for the "W."

Wildcats Welcome New Season with Win

With the off-season hiatus officially over, the Wildcats took the ice again as a team against the Washington Wolves Sunday night. The Wildcats traveled to the Kettler Capitals Iceplex for the season opener, excited to play, eager to win and with some new additions to roster. The Wildcats are happy to welcome new players to the lineup; Margaret Moran, Karen Frost, Mary Garrison and former teammates, Lyne McCauley and Anita Wray. Wildcats Win Season Opener

It's a "W" for the Wildcats as they blank the Washington Wolves 6-0 in the season opener Saturday night. When the first puck dropped, the Wildcats attacked with an intensity that didn't let up until the final buzzer sounded. Eager to defend their title, the Wildcats wanted to set the tone for the entire season with this first game. And they did.

Wildcats Season Opener Tonight

It's Saturday night hockey as the Wildcats open the 2011-2012 Season on the road tonight against the Washington Wolves.  The off-season was a productive one for the Cats, as they welcome a couple of new, but familiar, faces to the team.  Forward Ines Schroeder has rejoined the Cats after a brief hiatus, and behind the bench, Tristan Zdenahlik officially joins the coaching staff.  A big welcome to both Ines and Tristan, who will be great additions to the team.

Wildcats Blank Wolves

Defense

The Wildcats came away Sunday night with their second win against the Washington Wolves, winning the series with a record of 2-0-1.  The win marked the second in the Cats' last two games.

The Wildcats came out in the 1st period with a fierce determination to win.  Midway through the period, Wildcats' center Michele Forte opened the scoring as a result of a scrum in front of the net. Historic Win for Wildcats

The Wildcats traveled to Frederick for a rematch that ended in a historic win for the team.  Sunday's 1-0 win marked the first time in over 5 years the Wildcats have been able to win a game against the Frederick Firestorm.  The Cats came close last season with a tied game, but finally cleared the hurdle Sunday, earning a solid "W" in the win column.

Wildcats Win!

The Wildcats got their first win in a big way Saturday night with an 8 - 1 victory over the Washington Wolves.  Wildcats' center Diane Sanders opened the scoring early with just 3 minutes into the game.  She was assisted by Margaret Bartha.  The Wildcats' penalty kill unit got their first opportunity less than a minute later when Krista Ehlert was given a hooking minor.  The PK unit kept up the pressure and as the last second of the penalty expired, Heather Meyer potted the puck with the ass...

The Wildcats hosted the Washington Wolves Saturday night at Cabin John.  The Wildcats went into the game 0-0-1, and were hungry for their first win.

Saturday Game Preview

The Wildcats are ready to hit the ice tonight, and are looking for their first win of the season.  This time the Wildcats face the Washington Wolves in Saturday night's game at Cabin John.  The Wildcats last met the Wolves in the 2009-2010 playoffs, when they suffered a stunning loss. 

Good seating is still available tonight so come out and watch the Wildcats take revenge!  Puck drops at 6:30.

Season Opener Ends in Tie

Saturday night the Wildcats played host to the Baltimore Blizzard in the season opener at the Cabin John Ice Rink.  The Wildcats came out of the corner ready for a fight, and eagerly took the ice, hungry to start their season off with a win.
