Wildcats - Lightning Tie

The Wildcats arrived at the Prince William Ice Center Saturday night, ready for battle. Their opponent was the formidable Chesapeake Bay Lightning, who entered the MAWHL Senior D Division for the first time this season. The Cats showed up early to the rink, eager to play and even more eager to win.

Wildcats Suffer First Loss

The Wildcats took on the Reading Reign for the first time Saturday.  The Wildcats held the Reign scoreless until the final minutes of the game, after the Reign crashed the net and cashed in on a rebound shot.  Margaret Bartha was stellar in net, facing 28 shots and making a number of spectacular saves.  The Cats played an intense, physical game and had many scoring opportunities as they poured on the offense.  The Wildcats' defense was solid as they held the formidable opponent at bay for alm...

Wildcats Tour New Prince William Rink

The Wildcats were treated to a tour Saturday morning of the new Prince William Ice Center (PWICE). The rink is still under construction, so the group donned hard hats and were given an inside peak of what will become their home rink next season.  The newly erected building is probably the most wildly anticipated structure the area has seen since the original rink collapsed during the February 2010 Blizzard.  Since then, hockey players and teams have had to seek ice at other rinks in Northern ...

PWICE Announces New Rink

Today, rink owners made the long-awaited announcement that plans for rebuilding the Prince William Ice Center are finally moving forward.  Groundbreaking for the new rink will take place this November, with the grand reopening planned for July 2011.  After months of speculation and uncertainty, this is great news for the Prince William hockey community!  You can read the full announcement here.

October is finally here, and with it brings a new season of hockey for the Prince William Wildcats!  As the Wildcats prepare to take the ice as a team once again, there is a feeling of excitement and wild anticipation after months of loss and uncertainty.
